The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and the American Association of Hispanic Certified Public Accountants (AAHCPA) have partnered to provide scholarships for outstanding Latino college students pursuing degrees in accounting or finance related fields.

American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)

ACLS provides fellowships and grants to postgraduate individuals so they may devote a full year to research and writing in such fields as Literatures and Languages, History, Anthropology, Political Theory, Philosophy, Classics, Religion, the History of Art, Linguistics, Musicology, and the study of diverse world civilizations and cultures. Also offers a program for research in China.

 

American Council on Education (ACE)

Offers fellowships for the ACE Fellows Program. The ACE Fellows Program is the premier higher education leadership development program in the country. It identifies and prepares senior faculty and administrators to become skilled in the leadership of change.

 

American Dental Association

The ADA Endowment Fund Program provides scholarships to students pursuing dental and allied health careers. The ADA also sponsors a Minority Dental Scholarship Program for underrepresented students pursuing a career in dentistry.

 

American Dental Hygienists Association

Offers a variety of scholarships for dental students enrolled in an approved program of dental laboratory study, dental assisting study, or dental hygiene study.

 

American Dental Hygienists Association Minority Program

Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Minority Scholarships are awarded to members of minority groups underrepresented in dental hygiene programs. Such groups include Hispanic Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, and men.

 

American Diabetes Association

The Donnelly Awards scholarship program offers $5,000 awards to scholar-athletes ages 14-21 who play interscholastic, intercollegiate or intramural tennis and have type I diabetes. The award can be used for education, athletic development and/or medical care.

 

American Digestive Health Foundation (ADHF)

The ADHF funds numerous research awards to encourage scientific and clinical discovery. These awards provide opportunities for individuals from the high school student to the established investigator in many areas of concentration in gastroenterology and hepatology. Approximately $3.0 million is awarded in 15 different categories.

 

American Educational Research Association

Offers pre-dissertation and postdoctoral fellowships in educational research.

 

American Federation for Aging Research 

Offers the Medical Student Geriatric Scholars Program, which is used to identify and develop future leaders in geriatric medicine. The Merck/AFAR Medical Student Research Scholarships are offered to medical and PharmD students to explore the field of geriatric pharmacology.

 

American Geological Institute Minority Program

Offers scholarships and fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing geology, geochemistry, geophysics, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology, or earth science education.

 

American Historical Association

The American Historical Association will annually fund at least one Fellow, for one academic year, to undertake a research project related to aerospace history.

 

American Hotel Foundation

Hyatt Hotels Fund for Minority Lodging Management Students program provides awards to minority students pursuing degrees in the fields of hospitality, hospitality management, and hotel management.

 

American Indian College Fund

Scholarships in education, science, engineering, library science, or mathematics for first-year college students enrolled in one of the 32 tribal colleges located across the U.S.

 

American Indian Graduate Center

Offers fellowships to qualified Native American and Alaskan Native students to pursue graduate degrees in all fields.

 

American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES)

Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian or Alaskan Native college students pursuing academic programs in the engineering, mathematics, medicine, natural resources, or land science fields.                                                        

 

American Institute of Architects

Offers scholarships for minority and disadvantaged undergraduates, graduates, and professionals pursuing a career in architecture.

 

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

This scholarship program provides awards to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession.

 

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants/ Doctoral Scholarships

The Fellowships for Minority Doctoral Students program awards up to $12,000 in financial assistance to students who have earned a master's degree or completed at least three years of full-time employment in accounting.

 

American Institute of Chemical Engineers

Offers scholarships to minority students studying or intending to study chemical engineering.

 

American Library Association

The American Library Association provides undergraduate and graduate scholarships to students enrolled in Library Science degree programs. Also offers Century Scholarships to students with disabilities.

 

American Library Association Spectrum Initiative Scholarship

Offers graduate scholarships to minority students pursuing a Master of Library Science degree.

 

American Library Information and Technology Association

Offers minority scholarship in library and information technology for students about to begin or pursuing their master's degree in information science.

 

American Lung Association (ALA)

Offers ALA Research Grants and ALA Awards Program to support investigators pursuing lung-related research. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.

 

American Mathematics Society

Offers undergraduate to postdoctoral programs that aid the student in pursuing careers in the mathematical sciences.

 

American Medical Association Foundation

The American Medical Association Foundation annually offers the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Scholarship to a junior or senior medical student with a demonstrated interest and involvement in the communication of science. Scholarships also offered in medical journalism and psychiatry.

 

American Medical Women’s Association Foundation

Offers female medical student members scholarships for community service, activity in women's health issues and participation in AMWA and other women in medicine groups.

 

American Meteorological Society

Offers Fellowship and Scholarship Programs limited to Hispanic, African American, or Native American freshmen planning a career in atmospheric science.

 

American Museum of Natural History

American Parkinson’s Disease Association

Offers Research Grant Awards and Research Training Fellowships to study Parkinson’s disease and other related neurological disorders.

 

American Pharmaceutical Association

Offers scholarships to students enrolled in the last three years of a BS or PharmD program and planning to pursue the Ph.D. in a college of pharmacy graduate program.

Offers short-term fellowships for studies in the humanities and social sciences. The Porter Physiology Fellowships/Scholarships are awarded to minority graduate students working on their doctoral degree in the physiological sciences.

Offers Congressional Postgraduate Science Fellowships to society members who will assist members of Congress in understanding the technical and scientific issues of global warming, energy policy, defense technologies, AIDS, pollution, communications technologies, and more. Offers special awards for APS members who are on the faculty in physics (and closely related) departments and to those who have made significant and innovative contributions in the application of physics to science and technology.

 

American Physical Society Minority Undergraduate Scholarships

Offers Corporate-Sponsored Scholarships awarded to undergraduate minority students studying physics.

 

American Physical Therapy Association

Offers annual scholarships for students pursuing careers in physical therapy as a therapist or as an aide. The Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) scholarships fund physical therapists that have completed one full year of doctoral course work and wish to continue their course work or have entered the dissertation phase of their education. Also offers scholarships for minority students.

 

American Physiological Society, The

Offers several different awards and fellowships to those pursuing doctoral degrees in the physiological and biomedical sciences. Special programs are designed for physiology educators, minorities, and women.

 

American Planning Association

Awards scholarships to students pursuing careers in the environmental sciences, public administration, transportation, or urban studies and awards fellowships for community development studies. Also has a minority scholarship program.

 

American Political Science Association

Offers grants and congressional fellowships to minority students who are political science majors entering their first year of doctoral studies in the political science discipline.

 

American Press Institute (API)

The Minority Journalism Educators Fellowship is open to college-level journalism educators who are members of a recognized minority group.

 

American Psychiatric Association

Offers minority student fellowships to provide financial support and professional guidance to individuals pursuing doctoral degrees in psychology related to ethnic minority mental health and treatment delivered.

 

American Psychological Association

Offers several different fellowships that focus on aging, mental health, substance abuse, and neuroscience. Also offers the Minority Fellowship Program to individuals pursuing doctoral degrees in psychology and neuroscience.

Bank of America Corporation

The Bank of America Foundation provides substantial scholarships to persons with disabilities. Qualified candidates include high school graduating seniors, four-year college or university undergraduates, or students attending a technical or vocational school. The scholarships are awarded to students who have permanent residence in Texas. Qualifications for the scholarship include a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale; three letters of recommendation; finance, business or computer systems major; the completion of an essay and written documentation from an appropriate provider verifying the candidate meets the definition of disabled as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
