Academy for Educational Development
The National Security Educational Program offers graduate
fellowships to enable students to pursue specialization in the study of
languages, cultures, and world regions that are critical to U.S. national
security.
American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS)
ACLS provides fellowships and grants to postgraduate
individuals so they may devote a full year to research and writing in such
fields as Literatures and Languages, History, Anthropology, Political Theory,
Philosophy, Classics, Religion, the History of Art, Linguistics, Musicology,
and the study of diverse world civilizations and cultures. Also offers a
program for research in China.
Scholarships
in education, science, engineering, library science, or mathematics for
first-year college students enrolled in one of the 32 tribal colleges located
across the U.S.
American Philosophical Society
Offers
short-term fellowships for studies in the humanities and social sciences. The
Porter Physiology Fellowships/Scholarships are awarded to minority graduate
students working on their doctoral degree in the physiological sciences.
Offers
Congressional Postgraduate Science Fellowships to society members who will
assist members of Congress in understanding the technical and scientific issues
of global warming, energy policy, defense technologies, AIDS, pollution,
communications technologies, and more. Offers special awards for APS members
who are on the faculty in physics (and closely related) departments and to
those who have made significant and innovative contributions in the application
of physics to science and technology.
